Thanks Howard for posting this! Every balloonist around the world is interested in the outcome. It's not over till it's over! Still many teams aloft. Good luck and God speed! Soft Landings Kevin Stephenson Albuquerque,NM
Looks like only 2 balloons left aloft. SUI 1 looks to have it won though. Will be very hard for FRA 1 or SUI 2 to pull off the win. FRA 1 still has a shot of over taking for second place. I just admire what each of those balloonists achieved in the race. Great job all pilots who took part. Good Luck and Safe landings to those who are still in the air!
Looks like FRA1 might crack it.
They are only 3 k's behind SUI 1 and with an onshore breeze coming off the ocean they could go right up to the edge.
Only 3ks!!!!!!!
Bastard the server just dropped out with to many people connecting.
Was waiting for an update but seeing as the FRA 1 was still at 2800ft with only 3 ks to go it looks like they'll do it or crash into the ocean trying.
Legends.
FRA 1 win!!!!!!
Bye bucket loads.
Well about 17ks in the end.
Ballsy flight to go all he way from 2800meters to land in a nice paddock to take the win.
France 1 appears to be the winner of this years Gordon Bennett race, With Swiss 1 in Second and USA 2 in Third. No results are final, but it appears that all balloons have landed......... Without incident I hope, Looks as if everyone landed feet dry!!!! Congratulations to the winners! Thanks again Howard!! Kevin Stephenson, Albuquerque,NM
My Monkey Brothers and Sisters. It was really a great fun to follow GB 2009 via web. First it look that FIN1 would have won race when they were leading race. Their ended to Algeria, no luck. Then USA was at lead, but the last one FRA made it. In 2011 from France winds come to north. Balloons are wellcome to Finland.
