I got hooked on ballooning in 1978 when we sponsored a balloon in the Colorado Springs balloon event. The pilot we sponsored was a pain, so we hooked up with another pilot - Tim Cole. Tim became a family friend that weekend and continues to be today. Tim helped me add a free balloon rating to my commercial pilot's license. I got my own balloon in 1985, a 1981 Piccard dubbed "Circles". I now fly another Piccard called "Will o' the Wind".
yes i certainly do remember unfortunatly i was only 4 at the time but it was a great childhood memory of mine hopefully he didnt even think of doing it in that type of retreive here in aus :) or did he? i have a pic of me from that event on my profile
Thanks for the use of your pics. I got lucky when I flew that day I took my pics. We had to go farther north than usual and that is where those huge homes were. We flew over Deion Sanders and Randy White's homes. That and it was one of those flights where the pilot get the balloon up and asked who wants to go and everyone else said no. So I, with my grand fear of heights and flying, said sure. Now I can't wait to go back up.
I am putting a video together with all sorts of ballooning pics and video and I was wondering if I could use your pics/vids in it? It is all just for fun and would be posted here whenever it is done.
Hi Joe - nice to see you on here. And always great to see a fellow Piccard-pilot. Hopefully I'll get back up to Colorado again, and perhaps see you there.
