it's called a gas balloon. but dig deep, the helium in the USA isn't cheap!
I wish I knew some way to make balloon truly silent. Were it not for the noise of the burners there would be so many more places we could fly.
I have no idea how to ever make that work though.

- I have been ballooning since 1979. I bought my first balloon "Vision Splendid" in 1988. "Solaris" came in 1993 and am now into my third balloon "Sol Aria". I enjoy the challenge of competition, adventure and technical flights as well as fun recreational flying.
I support my propane addiction by my "real life" work as a achitect.

Thanks for the note. I was fortunate enough to vacation in the Syndey area several years ago, and I fell in love with the area , and with the wonderful people there.
Everyone was so friendly and so helpful when I was lost, or needed directions. I loved the Australian accent, and they loved my "Southern Belle" accent as well.
Maybe we'll cross paths one of these days! Travel is so easy these days. With proper planning and saving a little money, you can just about travel anywhere!
