That's really a neat thing that you do. If I was interested, how might I get involved to do this in my area. I am currently a commercial pilot that gives rides, but I might be interested in providing rides here in iowa. My sister-in-law is dating a navy corpsman and we gave them a ride before he was deployed. He was one of the most grateful passengers we ever have had! It's a neat thing you are doing.
I may do that. I guess I was somehow under the impression that your group was more formal than that. Matching up vets with pilots in their area, maybe even offsetting propane costs. In any event, I am glad to see that at least in our area people seem to realize that these men and women deserve our respect and gratitude for doing their job, even if they don't happen to agree with the politics. I am sad to say that I never even thought of the idea until I saw your page. It's so simple.
Hi Mike, it is a radio controlled balloon. The balloon has a volume of 80m³ and is +/-8m high. I control the 2 burners from the ground with a controller. I build the balloon myself and it is very fun to fly a modelballoon. Im also now bizzy building my second modelballoon...Tom

Don't know if you are interested or not but I stumbled on an event Thanksgiving weekend in Montrose CO. They serve Thanksgiving dinner to the pilots & crew on Thursday and fly Thur, Fri & Sat. Apparantly they give rides to veterans during the event. Supposed to be pretty low key. When the organizer told me about the veterans rides I instantly thought of you. I know that Thanksgiving is a tough time to travel and be away from family, but thought you might be interested. I am planning on going just because it sounds like a wonderful event and the rides for vets is a nice addition that makes me want to do it.
