"Thanks Guys for the info Murry I think you have your up and down backwards. No problems dropping skydivers while in a 400 ft decent, brings me about level with no basket shake, whats unnerving the first time was being at 6k in a wicker basket. Lots…"

Hey Skip! Welcome to the Monkey! How far are you from Nashville? There is an active group of pilots in Nashville that are a lot of fun.

Skip,
I'm sorry that I missed your visit to Decatur. It would have been great to have met you. It sounds like you and Tom had quite a time chasing that morning. Tom's a character. Stu went on to fly the next 4 mornings and passed his written. Will you be training close to home or going to ATL?

Tom is a character, as we all are to some degree. Its easy to see he enjoyes the sport and life in gernral. Training is a nother problem. There is no close to home to speak of. Daves sch. is getting full with all of the rallys and repair work.I would like to train for a week and get my private. I understand thats a lic. to learn. I am very blessed to have the meens to pay for training and buy a rig at this time. If I can get my lic. in a reasonable time I can fly here to get the hrs. for the commercial. I feel there is a good market here to cultivate a active ballooning community like you enjoy there in Decatur. I would drive there if there is a pilot willing to take on a student.
Peace,
Skip

Skip,
There is a pilot here in Decatur who may be able to work with you on your training. If you are interested, please contact me privately at stewart_laura@bellsouth.net and I will give you his contact info.

Hey Skip,
Lets try and talk sometime, I would be glad to help you out in anyway I can. If Laura give you my Email address please go ahead and send me an email, if not let me know here and I'll get you my contact info. There is a lot we have in common, my being a SEL pilot before becomming a balloon pilot, so I know both sides. There are somethings I would like to talk to you in person about training, crewing and past experiences ( both mine and yours).
May you have Gentle winds and Soft Landings,
Ken

Hi Skip,
If a guy sells pilot instruction, balloon rides, ATV tours, Jeep rides, trail rides, etc he's out to get your money and has no concern for you other than your bank account. You can contact me privately at naturalhighballoonist@yahoo.com and I'd be glad to tell the entire sordid story. I don't really need to get sued by someone who already got more than his share of my dwindling funds for telling the truth about him in a public forum.
Good Luck,
Jim

I hope those guys were good to you! Bob has flown with me a few times. ;-) I started crewing for him a couple of years ago and he couldn't get rid of me so he decided to teach me to fly. Little did he know that I was going to drag my feet and take such a long time to actually get around to getting my certificate. He's put up with alot.

Hey Skip,
Glad we can be friends! My Mom told me lots of stuff...just can't remember most of it. She also refered to balloons as "those crazy damned things". Glad to see you on this site. Its good to know our ballooning community is growing.

Yes the stained glass is my stuff. I've been doing artwork all my life. Just started the stained glass stuff last winter. Did it to ward off bordom...stay out of bars and away from loose women this last winter. Maybe need to rethink that loose women thing...but thats another discussion!
