- About Me:
- Started flying almost 17 years ago and I have a private pilots license. Marc began his flying once I was licensed .. took over my balloon and I've never flown since. LOL - OK, not really but it has been a while since I've flown longer than across a field. I really enjoy flying but my passion for ballooning is satisfied just by being involved. I'm just as happy to be "ground clutter" and let him be PIC. It wasn't just the idea of the flight that interested me initially. It was the people. Balloonists are an extrordinary bunch and they're still most of the reason I don't grumble (too much) about getting up at 0'dark 30.
When we're not out playing balloons, I'm busy with my best four legged friends... My horses, dog, cats, fish (ok so they don't have 4 legs), parrot and a few ducks (do wings count as legs?).
Who ever said that once the kids were grown that life became more laid back and not as hectic wasn't a balloonist and they sure didn't have a herd of animals =)

One man's encounter with an "evil balloon"
Last week while travelling I stopped at a Zany Brainy store and saw that they had a blimp for sale. It's called Airship Earth, and it's a great big balloon with a map of the Earth on it, and two propellers hanging from the bottom. You blow up the balloon with helium put batteries in it, and you have a radio control indoor blimp.
I'd seen these things for sale in Sharper Image catalogs for $60-$75. At Zany Brainy it was on clearance for $15. What a deal!

Laura Cole said… - Yes... he moved out end of October, I filed for divorce the first of December. And haven't looked back since the divorce was final. I am actually the happiest I have been in a very long time. I have a great network of friends ballooning and non that have been a great support and of course my family. I keep thinking I need to come out for a visit and semi-joke with Fran about it.. but I really want to. But between running to Houston, San Antonio, OK, KS and home I don't have much time for anything else. lol
Hope all is good there.... Let's keep in touch. Maybe connect at a balloon rally, asap.
