Hello! I am Dawn Chase. You would think by my name that I was born into ballooning...actually I wasn't! I guess it was just dumb luck or divine intervention that I have a perfect ballooning name! I have been ballooning since I was 6 years old and FINALLY got my private pilot's license. Next goal: commercial by November.

I, for one, spread the Monkey love where ever and when ever possible. I think you are wrong... there are a lot of older balloonists well aware (and lurking). They just have not completed a profile and been active in posting....

Timmy, please don't comment on who owns a balloon unless you are 1000% sure. It is not the balloon you think it is.

I was talking to Tom Bergon today b/c he does the parade as well, and he informed me about "classes." Is there any way I can get those dates so I can try and secure them to be in NY? Also, when would you want me to come to PA : the Wednesday before Thanksgiving? Look at me . . . talking about Thanksgiving on the 6th day of July! That's the planning of a balloon-a-tic! lol

St. Jean 2009
St. Jean kicked off with a bang! We all arrived yesterday and last night was the welcome dinner. It was great to see old friends again! Up at 4 am this morning and off to a FANTASTIC flight. It was incredibly steerable with a little speed on top, nice and slow on the surface. You could put the balloons anywhere you wanted! Thank goodness for dry roads because the toes don't get wet! Mike followed us in to the landing site and said the new balloon makes a great pibal!

AMO Monkey Hop 98
While parusing the old AM web pages I stumbled upon a competion that was held in 1998 called the Monkey Hop. (http://web.archive.org/web/20010223132136/www.yeti.com.au/amo/hop.html)
I LOVE what I read! I think that this should be revived! Andrew and all, how about it? More members means more people potentially participating which means a lot more funny stuff!

Instead of beanbags... how about paratrooping monkeys?
I found these at Oriental Trading (http://www.orientaltrading.com) - this season we should throw some monkeys at the target!
