Well I've been fairly sheltered as far as balloon events go.
Pretty much I have only been to the Australian balloon events.
This is my first oversea's balloon event and to say I have been blown away is an understatement.
From the pre event organisation and shipping to the full blown event it's been excellent.
I've almost had as much flying as I can take which is always a plus.
I'm not sure what I like the most, from a pre event flight with…

Memoirs of an Old Fat Balloonist
All balloonist's,
Just to let you know that my book, based on my 40 years of hot air ballooning was published last week, 12/20/2010. "Memoirs of an Old Fat Balloonist" is available on Amazon.com, and BarnesandNoble.com. The book, 454 pages, sells for $19.95 and chronicles the start and interesting stories of the ballooning Williams family. We helped pioneer the sport of ballooning in the early 1970's. Enjoy.

CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) reporting has indicated that the average age of a commercial hot air balloon pilot has increase to 60 in recent years. It has also been noted that many have been failing the Annual health assessments. Not only is retesting an additional expense, the loss of license can cause significant financial hardship.
The head medical examnier has released a Pilots Circular noting that,…
