Aussie Nationals this weekend. Quick grab a frog now!!!

A junior pilot has just entered his first nationals and is searching for a launch site for a fly in.

He is about to drive onto another spot when he hears “Ribbit, Launch here”

The pilot looks around and doesn’t see any one.

Again he hears, “Ribbit Launch here”

He notices a Frog sitting in the grass, and not being that confident decides to launch from that spot.

He has the best line to the target and gets a 1meter drop and full points.

Shocked he returns to… Continue

Leon Mexico

Hi All,
Several of the pilots I met last year in Leon were on Aunty Monkey so I decided to use this forum to see who all was going to go to this event this year.
Several of us from the DBG (informal group that includes most of central lL & IN) are applying. Just drop a line to say "hi" and let me know of your intentions with this event this year.

Suncatcher

Guess I've been doing this wrong, leaving comments instead of blogging, computers are not my strong suit. Here's what I should have posted...

Finally posted pictures of my "new" balloon. I bought it from Jim Aller in Indy. He could have had a higher price but wanted it to go to a new pilot "for love of the sport". He's a class act and I hope he knows how grateful I am.

Broke Back Lake Cullulleraine Balloon Camp

Four instructors at the lake ballooning camp. They had to bunk two to a room. No one wanted to room with Danny because he snored so badly. They decided it wasn't fair to make one of them stay with him the whole time, so they voted to take turns.

The first night Justin slept in the room with Danny and came to breakfast the next morning with his hair a mess and his eyes all bloodshot. Adam and Sean said, "Man, what happened to you?" Justin said, "Danny snored so loudly, I just sat up… Continue

Hopping Mad

The weekend saw the completion of my homebuilding project of the last 4 years. Well sort of......

When I built my little 35k balloon back in 2004 the plan was always to have a cloudhopper style bottom end for it. Until thet could be done, I used a rubbish bin. The bin was great fun, and a crowd favourite, but it was never what I had really planned.

In speaking about this with Aussie homebuilder, Nigel Flynn, he said he would be happy to help me and build the hopper frame… Continue
