Hey everyone, sorry, too busy to fly to update much, and it looks like the others have been, too. Well, the Nationals are over, and I ended up being 9th. Yay. Paul Gibbs won, of course, and Ed Michell came 2nd, with Peter Wright in 3rd place. Pretty tough competition, with 29 tasks flown in 5 days. Very interesting doing a logger-only comp, with no observers. It cuts down on some of the tasks you can do, like fly-ons, but adds some others like 3D shapes. Yay! I just had my practice flight for the Nationals, and it went swimmingly. I borrowed Pat and Adrian to drive our retrieve car, so I could fly with Mizuho. First task was at an intersection, second target was put in a field next to a road, and the third target was at the edge of the Benalla aerodrome. Well, the Worlds has finally started - or wait, they haven't yet, the weather is not cooperating. Anyhow, it gives everyone a chance to get into the swing of things. Team Gibbs is taking the time to calm down after celebrating hard when Paul won the lead-up event (the Primagaz week) the week before the Worlds.
