All things ballooning

I am truly sorry that I upset you, and I do apologize. My profile is Norma Wirt, and I am a new member. I have been in Ballooning for over 25 years. My husband was flying our balloon, and hit some power lines shortly after take-off. My daughters and I watched as he fell to his death. It will be 4 years in February since he died. My daughters and I recently purchased a balloon to get back into the sport he loved so much, and meant so much to our family.
I guess I'm just a die-hard for getting the message out about the Convention, especially about the Safety Seminar and about sharing knowledge. My husband had been flying for 20 years, and he made a mistake. That mistake led to his death. In his honor, I try to promote safe flying. I never imagined that my 3 sentences about the Convention would offend anyone.

Sincerely, Norma Delete Comment

Norma, Maybe if you just sent it to those who are based in the US. It is if little interest to those who are outside of the states, and there are a lot of us here.

Hi Norma... keep up on passing the message around. My dad came very close to hitting power lines this summer and he's been flying for 25 years...it can happen to anyone, new pilot or experienced. I'm sorry for your loss but I am glad your family is still involved.

No I did'nt take it as spam either.

There are a couple of people here that comment quickly on anything thats said.

I guess that will always be a problem with these sort of spaces.

But otherwise I believe its the best balloon group around. Certainly the most international which is cool.

Hi Norma, I didn't take your post on my page as spam.
I'm sorry folks would blast you regarding an invitation to a balloon related event. Kinda figured that was one of the purposes of this site. Frankly, I hear people getting pissy about NOT being invited to events.
Guess some folks need to remember that politeness counts...even if we can't see your face.
Very sorry for the loss of your husband. Keep up the good fight...safety first!
Happy holidays,
Phil
