First off, someone needs to hold that fan, so in a situation like this, they can easily move it out of the way. Secondly, if the pilot knew what he was doing, he could have waited to see how the balloon reacted, and in this case, shut the pilot's light and burners off and don't wait for your crown man to help you, he's already in a bad situation as it is. Move the basket in adjacent to the way the balloon wants to rotate. And just wait for the wind to die down, and if not, cancel the flight.

Hoooooollllllddddd it...... have to say this happened to me when I was training.... didn't brief crown crew... oh but how you learn from mistakes.... : )
