The 2nd Annual AIBF Aunty Monkey Tailgate Party!!!

We are now less than 6 weeks away from the start of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, and it's time to start talking about the 2nd Annual Aunty Monkey Tailgate party.

...so, who's going?

For those of you unfortunate people who weren't at the Aunty Monkey Tailgate Party last year at Balloon Fiesta, two things: a) I feel really sorry for you, and b) make sure to get yourself out to the bash this year, mmmkay?

So here's the deal:

The 2nd Aunnual Aunty Monkey Tailgate Party will take place on Monday, October 6, 2008 at Balloon Fiesta Park. The party will be switched to Tuesday if it's raining, otherwise it'll be Monday. The party will start after the morning flight or sooner depending on the day. The tenative location is launch sites J and K3-5; however the site may change depending on how things go (if competition goes late, the area may be flagged off) so if you're coming please keep up with the blog. However, if you get to the general area just look for the Aunty Monkey Tailgate Banner!

The theme for 2008 is "inflatables," so you can read into that however you want and bring the appropriate props. By appropriate, we mean make sure that you don't bring anything that'll get you kicked out of the event.

Just like last year, the party will be pot-luck style. It'll be beers, good times and lots of your favorite AM peeps. There'll be props, crownings, maybe an ice luge, a few BBQ grills, and much more. Bring your own food and beers, and stay out of my cooler. There'll be a boatload of Monkey Members, so come and meet your favorite AMers!

I am afraid Holly Cum 'a' lot won't be able to make it this year. There is the slight issue of the Pacific Ocean being in the way, which makes it a little difficult to get there.
