The Lake '08

The lake is only 3 weeks away today.

Who's going?
Why are you going? (Student, Instructor, Crew, Getting Hours, Comp Training etc.)
What are you bringing? (Balloons, crews, toys)
Am I the only one who's started packing? :-D

For those of you who don't know what the lake is all about, it's basically a training week held every two years here in Australia at the campground Lake Cullulleraine

I've decided the best thing is to leave your balloon at home and just bring the trailer full of toys.
1 x dead ansett balloon,1 x kite, 1 x rc balloon, 1 x rc plane, 1 x rc float plane, 1 x rc wing, 1 x helium airship, 1 x nitro helicopter, 1 x rc baby car, 1 x rc balloon trailer, 3x rc beginner planes, 1 x wife, 1 x baby, 1 x balloon retrieve dog. ;-)
And other assorted secret bad weather items and activities.

That means the student can stress about fitting everything in. ;-)

Your mum is soooo excited....finally finished at work and on hols. My boss decided that if I was not going to be there, she would go to Noumea! I obviously look after her too well! We leave tomorrow in convoy with the Buykx' (rhymes with hoax!). It will take two days (with baby Amelia) but it will be fun with the dogs and Gracie too. We might even do some geocaching!

We should have a little geocaching session at the Lake to teach aspiring balloonists how to use their brand-spanking new GPSs. Maybe a little scavenger hunt or something. I'll think about that in the car on the way down.

Barbara has been a very busy girl and we have already got this planned.
They will be set up like geocaches but not on the website.
It will be what is called a multicache where the first 9 caches lead to a final secret cache.
We will have a how to do session sometime early in the week.
Will get Meg and Brian to help us set them out when we get there.
An excellent no fly day activity.

Justin, ever seen a Multiplex "Fox"? It's a 20" epp chuckie. I am nearly done converting one into a glider for some balloon to ground missions :-)

I want a multiplex funjet for launching from balloons for mach runs. Won't be ready for the lake however ;-(
