About Me:
I am a second generation balloonist. My first balloon ride was when I was 2 weeks old. So I have been involoved in ballooning my whole life. I was involved in a single car rollover at 21 years old that left me a paraplegic. After that happened I became more determined to get my pilot license. I achived that goal in April 06. I fly a thunder and colt duo-chairoit, under a Cameron envelope. I love every minute I am in the air, and when I am speaking to people about what I have done. If you would like to learn more about me go see my website. Also if you are in need of a motivational speaker, or want to donate to me so I can do more speaking for the the schools please go to the website too.

Dude, for sure we’ll be at RMBF at Chatfield…it’s like 15 minutes from home and a pretty good time! Stay away from the dam…I’ll explain later. But you'll love the rally, it's a good event and nothing about Denver sucks.

We'll also be at Springs again, so we'll be ready to drink some beer...I'll be doing my situps and getting my straw ready to pound beers like a champion!

Thanks for the advice Michael. I am attending the RMBF this year as well. Maybe we can get together after one of the flights to share a beer and talk more about it. I won't be flying this guy until after I get home from the RMBF. Right now I am recovering from knee surgery and it looks like the Denver event will be my first venture back flying the balloon after my recovery. Thanks again for the quick reply and I will pass along your website to him.

Michael,
I gave away a ride to Challenge Air a charity that flies kids in airplanes. The winner of the ride is a paraplegic who received his injury in the Gulf War. I want to take him for the promised ride. I have a 44x48" basket that was custom built to 48" tall for me ( I am taller than your average pilot). I am confident I can put a stool or chair in the basket and safely secure it there to use as a seat. I have some concerns about him being able to see over the edge as well as the means of securing him to the chair. My question is, do you have any experience with a situation like this? Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks
Lance Terry

I just wanted to say that I am an over weight student pilot and I want to get started on my training but I can't fly with anyone because of my size. Seeing what you have done and the obstacles that you have had to overcome gives me even more hope that one of these days in the near future I will be flying as well. Thank you for what you do and spreading such a wonderful message of dreams coming true. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
