Commercial Balloon pilot in Australia
Sanjay was born and bought up in New Delhi, India, where he lived till 1986. He then moved to the US for his masters in science degree, and was a resident of The Netherlands till 2006, till he moved to Australia in 2007.
Sanjay's interest in hot air balloons was kindled in 1975 (age 15) when his family got together to build the first hot air balloon in India, which was his first experience with hot air balloons. He got his private pilot's license for hot air balloons in 1990 in the UK and subsequently in The Netherlands in 1992, and in the US in 1995.
Sanjay holds a Dutch and Australian Commercial Pilot's License (CPL) for hot air balloons, a UK and US Private Pilots License (PPL). He is also a pilot instructor for the Dutch Civil Aviation Authority (RLD) for hot air balloons.
Sanjay lived and flew intensively as a commercial pilot in The Netherlands, and Germany till 2006, and joined Global Ballooning as a commercial balloon pilot in 2007.
Sanjay speaks fluent English, Dutch and Hindi, and has good understanding of Spanish and German.
Hoi Sanjay!
At this moment I am in Cusco, Peru and it´s almost the end of my trip through South America. I love it so much here, but Peru is still my favourite country. Are you still ballooning in Holland in june? I haven´t got a home, nor a job so I could do some crewing if you still need somebody. Will also move to Amsterdam in july if everything´s working out as planned.
Groetjes :-)
Good to hear we have more Dutchies here in Ausie.
I don't think we have met before but I can be wrong
I know Dirk from the time I got first involved in Ballooning and know Ton from a few competitions in Holland
Sinds 5 years I am working for Outback Ballooning here in Alice Springs before that I been living in New Zealand
If you ever come this way do not forget to call in for a place to stay
Greetings Frans

I'm living on the Gold Coast at the moment. I'm lucky enough to be a half owner of a little 56, perfect to fly in by myself, I flew for over 50 mins on one 54l tank the other morning!
Hoi hoi! Thanks for the offer. Yes I know Jan, even been to his place when we went for the Exel Cup last year (which was cancelled). He's a nice guy. Well', I won't be here next year until begin of june. But after that I'd like to crew again. But I will also move next year and I don't know yet where to at the moment. It's a very uncertain time now, hope it will be better next year. :-) Groetjes

Hi Sanjay, thanks a lot! The best bit about getting my PPL is not having to nag, beg, and plead for people to take me out flying! ....oh and pilots don't have to pack up the balloon do they ;) ?
Hoi Sanjay! Alles goed hier in Nederland, alleen het weer valt een beetje tegen :-) I Did some crewing in England and since last year I sometimes crew for Shawn Mackinga on competitions. But actually I'd love to do some more. Groetjes!
